Services: Equine

Hale Veterinary Group: Peter HatherellPeter Hatherell qualified in Bristol in 1982 and joined us as his first Practice. After two years he moved to Newbury to further his experience in equine work. In 1987 he returned to the Hale Veterinary Group and became Partner in charge of the equine side of the Practice in 1995.

Equine Clinic at Lackham College

The practice has developed a small Equine Clinic at Lackham College adjacent to the Lackham Equine Centre. Its purpose is to make diagnosis and treatment of equine cases easier for us and more convenient for our clients. It has been designed in such a way that it can be enlarged as further facilities become required. We are starting with an examination room, padded knock-down and recovery room for minor procedures under general anaesthetic, and stables for temporary or hospital accommodation. Outside we have a hard lungeing area, trot-up track and plenty of parking space.

Equipment

We have available to us a range of diagnostic/treatment aids. These include an
x-ray machine with automatic film processing, ultrasound scanners, flexible endoscopes and rigid arthroscopy equipment.
